AVNIET is an Autonomous Institution granted academic autonomy by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

Autonomous approval is granted to eligible colleges by the University Grants Commission (UGC) based on recommendations from the affiliated university and regulatory bodies like the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
