The Civil Engineering Department was established in the year 2009, with the inception of the Institute, offering B.E. Civil engineering course with an annual intake of 60 students. The intake of UG program in Civil Engineering was increased to 120 in the year 2013. Currently, the UG program is run with an annual take 30 students. The department has 11 qualified and experienced faculty members, out of which 4 are Doctorates, consisting of a Professor, Associate and Assistant Professors. Faculty members of the department adopt innovative teaching practices and methods of modern pedagogy for effective teaching learning process. The department was accredited twice so far by NBA and has accreditation till June 2025. The Department has 10 full-fledged laboratories to cater the academic, research and consultancy needs. Good ties with industry are maintained for the student training, and student internships.  The department encourages students to actively participate in extension and outreach activities, under NSS unit of the institute, including Swatch Bharat Campaign, Street Cause, Blood Donation Camps, Tree plantation etc. The department, in line with the institute, follows a Proctorial system in which around twenty students are assigned to each faculty for mentoring and personal counseling to shape the students into better citizens, apart from good engineers. The faculty and students are regularly encouraged to attend workshops, and undergo training programs and internships to get them equipped with the knowledge and skill on the latest advancements in the field of Civil Engineering. The department also offers a post-graduate program – M.Tech (Structural Engineering) with an intake of 18 students. The UG course was accredited twice by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for 3 years in the years 2019 and 2022. The institute is also accredited by NAAC for 5 years period in 2023 with A – grade and was granted AUTONOMOUS Status by UGC, New Delhi for 10 years in 2023.
