The Department of Cyber Security at AVN Institute of Engineering & Technology was established in 2020 with an initial sanctioned intake of 60 B.Tech. students. The department was founded with a defined vision to develop competent, ethical, and industry-ready cyber security professionals capable of addressing contemporary and emerging cyber threats through strong theoretical foundations and practical expertise.
The department is supported by eminent and qualified faculty members with specialization in cyber security and allied domains, who are actively involved in teaching, research, and professional development activities. The curriculum is designed in alignment with industry requirements and focuses on core areas such as Network Security, Ethical Hacking, Digital Forensics, Cryptography, Cloud Security, and Cyber Law.
To facilitate experiential learning, the department has established specialized laboratories, including a well-equipped Ethical Hacking Lab, enabling students to gain hands-on exposure to security tools, attack–defense simulations, and real-time cyber scenarios. These facilities support academic experiments, mini-projects, certifications, and research initiatives.
The department also promotes holistic student development through professional bodies and student clubs such as CryptoCritters, which encourage technical events, hackathons, workshops, peer learning, and leadership activities. Through industry interactions, training programs, certifications, higher education guidance, and placement support, the department strives to produce globally competent cyber security professionals.
