Dr. G. Dhanalakshmi is currently working as Head – Research & Development and Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at AVN Institute of Engineering and Technology (AVNIET), Hyderabad.

She received her Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, and her M.E. in VLSI Design from Anna University, where she secured the University First Rank and was awarded the Gold Medal. She completed her B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the Government College of Technology (GCT), Coimbatore.

With over 16 years of academic and research experience, Dr. Dhanalakshmi has played a key role in strengthening innovation and research culture at AVNIET. She has established several Centers of Excellence, including the Center of Excellence in IIoT, Center of Excellence in VLSI Design, Center of Excellence in Robotics and Drone Technology, the MSME Business Incubation Unit, and the AICTE IDEA Lab.

She has published more than 50 research papers in reputed International/National Journals and Conferences, and has successfully guided UG, PG, and Ph.D. scholars. Her research interests include Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Low Power VLSI Design, Robotics, and Avionics.

At present, she is the Chief Investigator of the ChipIN-C2S project funded by MeitY, Government of India, Coordinator of the AICTE IDEA Lab, Head of the MSME Business Incubator (Host Institute), Project Leader of the e-Yantra initiative sponsored by IIT Bombay, and Convener of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at AVNIET.

She has been actively involved in several academic and administrative activities throughout her teaching career. She has served in key leadership roles such as Dean – IQAC, Head of the Department, NBA Coordinator, NAAC Institutional Coordinator, Head of the Autonomous Committee, Board of Studies (BoS) Member, and Head of Outcome-Based Education (OBE).

She is a Life Member of professional bodies such as IEEE, ISTE, and CSI.
