Department of Mechanical Engineering

Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2009 with an intake of 60. Mechanical Engineering is that discipline of engineering which applies the principles of physics and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems.

This engineering eld requires an understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics and kinetics, thermodynamics, materials science, and structural analysis. Mechanical engineers use these core principles along with tools like CAD/CAM and product life cycle management to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, automobiles, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, medical devices and more.

The department has faculties with industry and research experience. Most of the faculties underwent the FDP’s and strive hard towards the employability of the students. The Department takes pride in achievements of its alumni, who have shined in various walks of life. Technical knowledge is upgraded by conducting research activities/workshops/seminars/conferences. Regular Industrial visits are held to correlate institute and industry interaction.

Objectives

To create employable and entrepreneurial engineers with academic excellence, positive attitude, effective communication and interpersonal skills, self confidence, leadership qualities and high integrity to serve the interest of society and nation.

The Objective of the programme is to prepare the students that are globally best. Most of the students, who graduate from the department, take the leading positions in industry, academia and government sector.
